GC Day 4 -2

VCT Game Changers 2022: G2 Gozen becomes the first finalist of the tournament

The beaten Team Liquid Brazil will play again in the lower bracket to see if they make it to the Grand Finals.

The arena is heating up as the last few matches of the inaugural VCT Champions are played in Berlin. The top two teams of the upper brackets – G2 Gozen and Team Liquid Brazil go head-to-head to see who the first-ever finalist of the tournament will be.

G2 GozenvsTeam Liquid Brazil

The series started on Ascent, where Team Liquid started strongly to grab the first few wins of the first half. G2 Gozen however did not stay silent – and worked hard to catch up to the South Americans and caught up with a tie by the end of the first half. The second half begins, and it was Team Liquid’s turn to play catch-up as G2 grabbed the early wins. By the end of round 24, both teams were tied once again.  In Overtime, it was G2 Gozen that easily won the extra rounds, to end the map 14-12.

Breeze saw G2 Gozen controlling the narrative as both teams played to be the first finalist of the competition. By the end of the first half, G2 Gozen led the way with a two-point lead. The second half was a ping-pong game of points as both teams tried to stay ahead/catch up to the other. Team Liquid was close to tying the game once again, but the win in round 23 sealed the deal for G2 Gozen. They won 13-10 and became the first finalist of the VCT Game Changers 2022.

G2 Gozen will now head to the Grand Final, awaiting the winner of the lower bracket finals while X10 Sapphire gains another chance to see if they can meet up with G2 Gozen again as they play through the final stages of the lower brackets.
