Interview with 88)LeX

[s]interview[/s]

I had the privledge to sit down with a man who has been all over the BW scene for a while now, not as a gamer but as a manager and leader, his name is Croatia 88)LeX. He is Croatia B co-leader on WGTour, Website designer and co-leader of United States Team 88) and as of today, a PGTour ladder admin.

Please introduce yourself for everyone.

My name is alan franeiskovae, i'm an average croatian bw player currently at the age of 17... i've been playing for around 3 years now.

What is your unique position in the team 88)?

I am the lead web designer and co-leader of 88). I help organize the team alot, like reminding them of Clan Wars and updating website.

So what do you think makes 88) stand out above other teams?

I think we are a team that can compete at the top level of wgtcl, though maybe achieve the top spot. I think our unity and friendship makes us do so well, as well as we always come prepared for the cws (good showing and practice motw's)

We have a good number of players present at the cw's and we play alot of games on the maps for the week of the cw.

So I have herd about your old position as Croatia A Leader. What happened there, how did you get to be leader and why aren't you leader any more?

I got appointed after redzone; he gave me the position after he went inactive. I've been doing well with it untill a little quarrel came up between me and zubo so they threw me out and didn't let me back, instead found a new leader.

And before this, when redzone came the actual leader he took me in as an assistant, although he failed to show up regularly, which led to the later ecents...

What are your views on the WGT Nation Wars system? Likes or Dislikes?

I think it's a very organized system; the rating system is fair and promotes active playing (even if you lose you get points) and the admins take care of the problems quickly and efficiently.

also they have very nice rules to prevent abuse and attend to adding the players quickly which makes it a very functional system.

There's nothing I dislike about it; everything that keeps this game alive and every project that makes it more interesting is a bonus for me, no matter the downsides.

Who do you feel are the most skilled nations to play a NW against and why?

I think Germany, Poland and Canada are at the very top... they have some of the best players around the world and get a nice showing to their matches so they are able to do wonders at their nw's.

Do you ever play in NW's or CW's?

Yes, while I was in Croatia A I rarely did, only as a replacement... currently in the B team I am considered one of he best so I don't hesistate to put myself as #4 in ever NW we play...

I don't play any CW's for 88, however I've recently joined a (formerly) west team, now they play PGTour and I gladly play CW's for them as I am on the level with the others. Needless to say I was the worst in 88).

Is StarCraft big in Croatia?

Not really, it's not recognized... it's a small country with not many players, but we have proven we have what it takes to be on the level by defeating France, Argentine and other countries.

It's more of a hobby here and that's probably the reason we have so little players... The scene isn't very big and the talent is around average... but we have around 5 players who can hold their own at a competitive level.

I'm talking about Croatia NrT.Naruto, Croatia Razon[clf], Croatia BlueSky[clf], Croatia NrT.Ptak and Croatia Troop3r[clf].

I have known you for a while now and what has always been a great attribute of yours is the fact that you are so full of manner and always willing to give out <3's. What are your views on today's manner within the SC community?

I don't have much free time since I devote myself to studies, however usually when I get tired from SC I just listen to music or relax, sometimes I go our with a few friends.

otherwise, I can imagine 1001 ways to spend time on sc... work on site, chat with bnet friends, help someone out, browse sites...

Who are your favorite gamers in SC?

I'd have to say my all time favorite is Grrrr..., sad that he's retired now... I also always liked Mondi's style and a few others.

Okay time to wrap up the interview. Do you have any shout outs?

Just <3 to 88) and gH- and to everyone else "stay cool and rule".

Thank you for the interview LeX.

u2 :) was a pleasure.
