Article about Starcraft 2

The guys at IGN have written an article about Starcraft 2 where they show of some of their ideas for the awaited sequel. For those of you who don't want to read the whole article I've filtered out most of the ideas that they had:

New unplayable race, xel-naga, like demons in warcraft 3
Keeping the atmosphere of the game dark, NOT like war3 style
Going for 3D graphics but still keeping the battles large like in SC1
Day/night/weather changes with advantages and disadvantages to units
Being able to control a unit as in first-person mode
More than 12 units per group
Improved AI (different playing styles, one likes to go quick air and soforth)
Strike groups (units working best efficient way, i.e. when fighting they regroup with ranged attackers in the back and tanks go automatic siege)
Setting up coordinated attacks (being able to attack at once with several groups)
Interactive battle areas (fighting more home style, like Terran home planet and in Protoss cities)
New fighting areas
Physics based gameplay (shooting down air units causes damage to ground units, like zeppelins in red alert 2)
Fleet commander functionality (a leader who commands the ground/air units)
Capturing buildings (á la C&C style)
Customizing units for the zerg (combining two units will make a whole new unit with mixed abilities)
Veteran units gaining experience to become stronger
Important unique units
Formations as in warcraft 3
Upgrades to weapons/armor make a change in graphics (diablo 2 style)
Some units from SC1 to be back in SC2
NO creeps, NO supply chain, NO low unit limit, NO items

I have to say that in most part of the their ideas, I agree. A lot of graphic changes to make it more "interactive" such as the effects of war would be cool. But ideas such as strike groups, fleet commanders and veteran units etc. don't really appeal to me since it seems it will take away much of the microing of the game which really makes pro-gamers of today's SC become what they are. But also, it seems kind of clear that they want Warcraft 3 to be one game, and Starcraft another, and they don't want a hybrid.
