WCG Korea prelim.

[s]event_wcg[/s]The WCG preliminaries in Korea are heading towards the end. After this weekend, we will know which three players that will represent Korea in San Fransisco later this autumn.

After lots and lots of different preliminaries around South Korea, 32 players have managed to qualify for the final tournament. Those 32 players have made it to the playoffs in three different ways:

Yellow.jpgA ladder open for progamers and amateurs. It is said that a lot of the abusers and cheaters were removed, but there are still many who doubt it. All the qualified players are members of a proteam, more or less famous. A lot of Zerg players ended up on the list, a total of 9 players, where Korea Yellow (picture) was one of them. 3 Terran players, and only 1 Protoss player. Here's the full list:

The last two playoff spots were given to the winners of a Cyberpark preliminary. This preliminary had qualified players from various PC bangs, who competed for the two spots in a playoff. The winner and the runner-up were given the two spots. The players are Korea Ggon from Samsung Khan and Lee Hun, an unknown player who actually beat Korea Silent_Control in the preliminary.

ogogo.jpgThe Grand Final will be played this weekend (13th - 15th of August). Which three players will represent Korea in the World Cyber Games 2004? Will WCG'03's winner Korea Ogogo (picture) be one of them? This weekend, we'll know.
