WCG Preview: TreK

[s]interview[/s]The Nordic World Cyber Games are getting closer every day that goes by. Now, there's only eleven days until we start the event at Inferno Online in Stockholm. Now, we will take the pulse on some of the participating players. First out is the Swedish WCG'03 runner-up: TreK-PL.



Hey TreK! It's currently 11 days 'til the Nordic WCG will kick off. What were your first reactions when you heard that WCG was going to happen after all?

• I was so happy... I would've stopped playing instantly otherwise of course...

What's your view about it being one big event, and not divided into different qualifications last year? Is it better, worse?

• IMO it's better... Not only won't Mazor waste time (and sponsors money) on ppl being too lazy to sign up as last year when he went all over sweden, and seeing some Norweigans and Finnish bastu bathers play will be fun too. Nice to meet some Norweigan friends and maybe have some fun.

Any player that you long to meet the most from Norway of Finland?

• I've always wanted to meet my personal fag stinger... And maybe my gosu friend nas is comming too...also ive always wanted to see slayer play but i guess maybe he isnt comming im glad to meet ilvy too... The rest I dont know that well but it's always to meet our fellow neighbours.

Indeed. So, which players do you believe will be the owners of the three tickets to San Fransisco when the whole event is over?

• I hope it will be me, Stinger and ovvi but i guess it will be Daaman, Eriador and ovvi. Who knows?

I know that you're from Danderyd in Stockholm, so you probably won't have any problems getting to IO? Will you travel with someone?

• Well I live in the city now... Near medborgarplatsen @ söder in Stockholm... Its about 10-15 minutes to IO from there so no probs. I probably will go with Xodiac, Dez and some other random scums that want some place to stay : )

How do you think you will get greeted once you get there? Do you think that people will accept your participation even though you were caught hacking?

• Well... Everyone I've met so far has gotten to know me better and knows that I'm just a human that made a misstake... And I'm just there to have fun and play my best... I hope ppl will focus at the event more than I was caught hacking 7 months ago...

Yeah, I hope so too. What do you think of the maps?

• hm well... I like them much better than last year... They all favour my racepicking vs. everyone but random lamers like Daaman

Hehe ; ) Do you feel like you are prepared for this event, or are you going to train as hell now nonstop in 11 days?

• I know that 24/7 gaming mustn't be the key to winning... The routine from events is all in my head already... Playing 200 WGTour games and playing 8 games at wcg is two totally different things... You should be sure that you are physically fit for the event... And that your speed and timining is at your full... Thats the only factors as I see it in my eyes and yes... I feel prepared.

Good to hear. We are going to do the Nordic WCG'04 movie - do you have any opinions on the WCG'03 movie that we should keep in mind this year?

• It was a great and funny movie that maybe could've had more cool parts of the game like the "everlasting exp" in a faster mode or something... And maybe the interviews were a little poor, no offence of course... But I enjoyed it. I'm no film expert : )

So, we should simply make it longer? :) Sounds good. Well, I wish you good luck in the WCG tournament, and I'll be seeing you in 11 days!
