With this site, the StarcraftGamers, we want to provide our visitors with lots of interesting news and articles, good material and every day updates. This is why we are asking you for help. We are looking for those who have been a part of the Starcraft / Brood War community, who have read news and articles and have a good understanding about what is relevant and interesting. The requirements that are needed to become a crew member include:
A very good knowledge of English.
Ability to work independently, show initiative and not be needy for others to help you.
We often work in groups, so good workmanship is a plus.
Being a scribbler often takes up more time than one thinks – you should be able to spend (at least) one to two hours a week working on the site.
We would like it if you were 16 or over, but if you're under 16, no worries. We are not going to reject a person just because they are not yet 16; age does not necessarily prove how a person will behave himself/herself.
So no misunderstandings happen: you do not need to be particularly skillful in Starcraft/Brood War to work for us.
We are searching for people for the tasks below:
Forum moderator
A forum moderator is a person who is very active in the forums, arranges competitions and checks for bad language etc. Should act like a responsible person and keep the language to a strict line at the forum and to avoid spam posts. A good knowledge of Brood War as a game (technically) is a plus, but definately not a requirement.
News editors
The news editors' tasks are to write about new and relevant stuff about Starcraft and the community. Both coverage of tournaments and leagues from other sites, but also to work with own material here at StarcraftGamers such as arranging tournaments or hosting competitions. This is one of the most important jobs here.
Designers
StarcraftGamers is a very interactive site and the skin function is totally integrated with the design in a way which makes it easy to create new skins. We are talking about one or two skins for you to make. Experience within webdesign is required. Include an url to a recent work of yours when you send the PM. A designer does not have to be on the Crew.
Personell management
We also want some help with the current Crew. The personell managers' job is to help us to work with the people in the crew and help them with anything they need. Working with hireing new people, polls, relations and activity within the crew.
Replay Organizers
Uploading new replays to the pro replays archive, working a lot with replay packages. Contacts within the progaming scene is a plus. This job may be combined with VOD organizing.
What does the crew workers get from doing voluntary work? Apart from developing and improving your journalistic skills, your knowledge of language and workmanship, the hardest working scribblers get certain prizes for well performed work, and free tickets to big LAN events. Not to mention all the new contacts you would make.
