Interview: NeoEx Founders

Today I sat down with GpaiS(TE) and
iG.LeGeNdArY who manage and run the Neo Exhibition league. They bring us many good matches every week and reports to follow. I was more than happy to interview these two unique individuals.

Note, these two are good friends and very comfortable with each other. Due to that they talk very openly and spamish so I will try to make it as understandable and readable as I can for the benefit of everyone. Their site recently was pulled down due to a hack attack but fortunately they saved most of it and it is now back up.

Introduce yourselves for everyone please.

• LeGeNdArY:

Well I am Sid, 17 yrs in Feb :P I live in London, and I am sexy ^^


Nice to meet you both. So what are your positions in NeoEx?

GpaiS: Well I am the Founder and Co-Lead Administrator

• LeGeNdArY:

I am the Co-Founder/Wedmaster/Web Dzigner/ And Co Admin

I am looking at your site and out of the 23 current participants for NeoEx there are only 3 Terran players. Is there any reason for that?

GpaiS: Well...

• LeGeNdArY:

Europe lacks Terran players

GpaiS: I look at KeSPA and see a lack of Protoss players. I look at NeoEx and see a lack of Terran players. Kind of the same situations... Koreans = Terran and Zerg. Europeans = Zerg and Protoss.

• LeGeNdArY:

I think it is the start of NeoEx. Wait a couple months and more Terran users will join us.

GpaiS: We have also had Fenris(TE) and 3wD.Lamer join us.


What can we look forward to with NeoEx?

GpaiS: Me owning people... but beside that many new and interesting things

• LeGeNdArY:

well, the 2v2 King oF The Hill for most. It will be a kickass Exhibition and the winner stays on.

GpaiS: We also are opening a new Website, so we are looking forward to that as well. And maybe a "amatuer" league.


So can you two describe what happened with the apparent "Hack" attacks on your website a week ago?

• LeGeNdArY:

hmm yes, lets see... Well first off it was no one from England. We don't know who it was at all for now, they are being traced.. we should find out soon enough. But yeah, it did piss us off a lot.
GpaiS: Yes I wasn't the happiest guy... Comming home from a Date and getting Sir saying "were fucked".

• LeGeNdArY:

finding wtf, sites down lol

What would you guys say to the people who say NeoEx is a F2F look-alike?

• LeGeNdArY:

hmm, well tbh no it isn't. NeoEx = Exhibition matches which the community can enjoy, its only for the community to be honest and to have fun. GOSU gamers can play and get some good experience.

GpaiS: Also, For reference. F2f was not the first, we did not copy them, F2F did not copy SG.com and SG.com did not copy TL.net. Show matches have been around forever. Ever since some one said 1v1 bo5, so we are not copying anyone. The concept is the same, thats true, but not copying. We are here for a good ol' time.

• LeGeNdArY:

But wait new more weeks untill the 2v2 King of The Hill comes out. We have many more plans, so keep watching NeoEx.

I think people use the words copying and poser a lot to describe leagues like NeoEx and F2F because it involves the same players time after time. Are we going to see anything different from you guys like Assem, Froz, BlackMan[pG] ect...?

• LeGeNdArY:

well yes, we are trying to get Koreans such as
OverSky... but it requires a good communication skill. They hardly speak English.

GpaiS: Well we are in the midst of asking a few Koreans. But as Sid said, English boundaries only go so far.

• LeGeNdArY:

and why would they play NeoEx, without us telling them why? Its for the community, but their English is as bad as my Korean.

So let's go onto your personal favorites. What are your guys' favorite Neo Exhibition Matches so far?

GpaiS: Well my first match was great! Pride vs Taurent, I enjoyed that alot. I knew that it would be good... Even though it was a blow out all matches were exceptional. I also enjoyed Lamer vs Fenris, where Fenris with the 0-2 came back to win 3-2.

• LeGeNdArY:

For me it has to be
Draco vs Anon, where Draco won 3:2 and the newest game which took place today, Draco vs Trek (results confidential atm). You need to watch Draco vs Trek, Absolute kick ass! 1 game is 50 minutes long!!!
