Apparently enrolls from pgr21, the artist of all the previous wallpapers used the material from another artist, Raphael Lacoste as the background of the piece the marine without his consent. I will not go into the debate of whether it was right or wrong or whether it was legal or not. We were contacted by Raphael, the original artist who gave us permission to continue using the marine picture if we made mention of his site and his name as the original author of the background that was made into the composite image called The Marine by enrolls.
However what really did upset the original artist, and here comes the funny part, was not so much as to the fact of another artist using his material without consent but rather transformation of his work of art to try and hide its origin. Indeed this artist not only has a gift for art but also a gift for words. I shall quote him because he could not have chosen better words to describe his disgust:
"and know that it is not fair to use a picture from an Artist and just flip it in sepia tones with noise"
“Noise” being the added is the picture of the marine and the fonts. Notice also background has been flipped and the color tones where changed. Anyway, here is a link to the original piece of art and a link to the website with his published work, there you will also find what appears to be a marvellous image of something that with a few changes could have easily been made into a zealot, that I was tempted to swipe. Our part has been fulfilled.

We would like to thank Raphael Lacoste for his generous artistic contribution to our site. I have also invited him to send us any other of his works of art if he ever is inspired to use a Starcraft related motif. But then I guess he would need Blizzard’s consent? Imagine a world were no art could be used to create new art.
