After the demise of PGTour we have seen many phoenixes rise from the ashes.
The most recent ash to spawn a phoenix is PGTour's News Portal. PGTour's news portal allowed any user of their site to instantly submit a small news post to the website, which was then checked by an admin and authorized.
This allowed many clans and smaller tournaments to get news onto popular websites, news which may not have been considered front page news that required a full news post.
The GosuGamers engineering team has just completed the GosuGamers News Portal for our visitors, which will be managed by our very apt editorial staff.
The portal is yet another step towards integrating out visitors and allowing our visitors to make the content that you all see.
I asked our Editor in Chief Raistlin a few questions to find out more information on how they will use the news portal and how it will effect the users.
So there we have it, the news portal is for you guys to use, submit as much or as little as you like, and let the admins do their work to add it to the site.
Can you first tell me what you think the news portal will mean for our visitors
- The news portal will give our visitors a chance to submit their own news and have them in the spotlight. The visitors may also check the news portal for smaller news that aren't as suiting in our major news system.
What limitations will there be for the users of the news portal?
- Not any direct limitations. We will accept all kinds of news tips that we might find suiting. No racism, head-to-head material, yadda yadda. Following our rules and terms of course.
So are they news tips that you will edit or will the users write the news?
- The whole idea is that users can chip in with their own news tips and then an administrator will accept them. But of course the administrators themselves can and most likely will add mini news of their own there.
