Readmore just announced that the World Cyber Games 2008 will be held in the gaming city Cologne in Germany!
World Cyber Games 2008 will once again move back to the European continent, and this time in the gaming city of Cologne. The beautiful city have been the hosts of various German WarCraft 3 events such as the WC3L finals to mention some. Taking place from 5th to 8th of November, this event is placed a month later than what the WCG finals usually are.
This year's final will be held in Seattle, USA in the big football stadium. Will Cologne and Germany top the spectacle that will kick off 4th of October in the States?
The contract will be signed 13th of March by the ICM CEO Hyong Seok Kim and Cologne's mayor Fritz Schramma, but already the news about the venue has been announced by unknown sources. Recently the World Cyber Games 2007 official games were announced but it turned out to be "fake" and claimed to be a test announcement on their new website. Let's hope this is not another fake announcement.
Update: Readmore removed their newspost about WCG at 18:54 because the city of Cologne's website removed their press release as well. Was this yet another leak about the World Cyber Games?
