Timberlake and Affleck to Co-Star in Poker Film

Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake are set to co-star in a major motion picture that’s set in the world of online poker. The film is the tentatively titled “Runner, Runner” and is the creative work of screen writers David Levien and Brian Koppelman who are probably best known for the cult classic “Rounders”.

The film is being co-financed by Stone Village and will be distributed by 20th Century Fox with Leonardo Dicaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran working as producers. Production is set to begin this summer in Puerto Rico and will be directed by Brad Furman, best known for his latest work, “The Lincoln Lawyer”.

Not much is yet known about the plot of the movie, other than that it will center on the world of online gaming. With any luck, the release of the film will coincide with US regulation of the online poker industry, creating an online poker boom that will relinquish the 2003 Moneymaker effect to a mere footnote almost not worth mentioning.
