Elio Fox Wins WSOPE Main Event

American Elio Fox scored his biggest title and payday Thursday by outlasting 582 players and winning the €10,400 buy-in 2011 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event in Cannes, France. He takes home a massive €1,400,000, nearly $2 million, after defeating the tough Brit Chris Moorman in heads up play. It was by far Fox's biggest victory, although he won the Bellagio Cup Main Event for $644,192 just this past July.

Fox crushed the final table, holding the chip lead from the start all the way to the finish. On the final hand, all the money went in pre-flop and Fox's A,10 held up against Moorman's A,7. Moorman and Shawn Buchanan additionally hope to win the tournament so they can vault over Ben Lamb in the WSOP Player of the Year leaderboard.

With Moorman and Buchanan's exits, Ben Lamb officially claims the title of WSOP Player of the Year three weeks before he takes his seat at the WSOP Main Event final table in November.

Final Table Results of 2011 WSOPE Main Event:

1st: Elio Fox – €1,400,000
