November Niner Giannetti Wins WPT Malta

An embarrassed Matt Giannetti took down the World Poker Tour main event over the weekend. In exit interviews he admitted he had played very well leading to the final table, but had gotten very lucky at the final table to come out on top and collect the $273,200 first prize. He defeated Italian Cecilia Pescaglini heads-up. He professed the difficulty of playing such an unpredictable and aggressive player who didn't like to fold.

Giannetti will now take his experience from winning the 240 player field at the Casino de Portomaso in Malta into the World Series of Poker Main Event final table in Las Vegas in November where he will be playing for nearly $8 million. He will enter the WSOP final table third in chips. It was an honest expression form an experienced online cash game player to admit that luck ran in his favor this tournament.
“God damn, I am a lucksack, so mad how I played, way too much run good expended... Happy I won but feel like I don't deserve it.”
Giannetti aslso secured a $25k seat to the April 2012 WPT World Championship as part of his winnings.
