We The People Petition

U.S. President Barack Obama insisted he would do things differently in the White House. One initiative that has been established recently is the "We The People" project that promises to give a voice to any issue that receives 5,000 signatures on the official whitehouse.gov website. In the wake of the online poker turmoil, it is essential that Americans use every tool at their disposal to ensure legislation and regulation so online poker can be returned to the United States.

They are about half way to their goal of having this simple poker message heard by the Obama administration, but I urge any U.S. citizens to visit the site and take the five minutes necessary to have your voice heard. HERE

We petition the Obama administration to protect consumers, create jobs and generate revenue by licensing and regulating online poker.

Appropriate regulation of online poker will put the U.S. in charge of safeguarding responsible adult players, prevent underage participation and protect those with excessive gaming habits. The current, unregulated U.S. marketplace does not guarantee a single consumer protection.

U.S. regulation of this global industry will also mean the creation of American jobs and billions in new revenue without raising taxes. Licensed U.S.-based horse race wagering sites have proven that online betting sites can be successfully regulated. It is time to allow online poker the same opportunity.
