"I am very happy that since I have played majority of the time online that this will give me the opportunity to play on more offline events," Im said in a release. "I look forward to traveling and playing in many major tournaments."
Im first garnered attention from the poker media after winning the APPT Cebu. Soon after, she finished runner-up in the Macau Poker Red Dragon Main Event. Fellow PokerStars Pro and former Starcraft professional Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier’s early poker success sparked Im’s interest, which Im learned from her boyfriend, a fellow player in the Starcraft scene.
"I was very surprised and started to get interested in how it was possible," Im said. "I watched him play more and more and eventually learned hold'em. I started playing poker for the first time in my life on PokerStars."
