Season 8 of EPT Launches in Tallinn

The eighth season of the European Poker Tour kicked off Tuesday in Tallinn, Estonia with Day 1A of the main event. It has been three months since the season 7 EPT Grand Final ending in Spain.

Former EPT champions in attendance today include Rupert Elder, Arnaud Mattern and David Vamplew, bracelet winners Joe Ebanks and Praz Bansi and EPT player of the year Fernando Brito.

Russian Maksim Kolosov is the end of Day 1A chip leader with over a hundred thousand chips with popular Roberto Romanello in second with 83k.
"I started slow then I hit a cooler," Kolosov said, for whom it soon became a coast. "I flopped a set, and then I added to my stack without a showdown. I won only one all-in, that's all."
Only 19 players bust on the day, a tribute to the slow structure. There will be 73 players from Day 1A that will move on to Day 2.

Day 1B set to start at 12 noon Wednesday. The field is expected to be considerably larger due to many suffering traveling headaches to arrive at the tournament.
