Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier ended up on top winning the European Poker Tour - Madrid €25,000 buy-in High Roller event in Madrid, Spain. He defeated the German Benny Spindler with a full house over Spindler's trip nines to take down the title and €525,000.
After Juha Helppi went out in third pushing 10-J into ElkY's Q's, ElkY was still behind 2-1 in chips to Spindler. Grospellier then turned on the aggression with constant raising. He got one big double up and dominated the rest of the match.
The win pushed Grospellier over $7.3 million in live tournament winnings. It was his second big score in a high roller event after he won $433k at the 2009 PCA High Roller.
PCA 2011 Main Event winner Galen Hall had started the final table as a chip leader, but fell fast, finishing in 7th place (good for €57,500).
