PokerListings to purchase Cake Poker Network

Bluff Magazine and PokerNewsDaily have reported that the sale of the Cake Poker Network to the massive affiliate site PokerListings.com is imminent. What started as a rumor last week has been confirmed by several industry insiders with the hoped for deal to be confirmed within 15 days.

Cake Poker Network, once the fastest growing network, has experience numerous issues and turmoil over the last year. Lock Poker, Sportsbook, Players Only and Doyles Room all left the network for other destinations. Traffic has plunged over 65% year over year. It is now the sixth largest network to accept players from the U.S. and the 26th largest poker room traffic, according to PokerScout.

Cake Poker Network also lost their tournament manager and popular poker room manager Lee Jones, who just recently returned to PokerStars as Home Games manager. Cake did bring on Only Poker and more recently Poker Pros Network. It would seem Victory Poker is their most heavily marketed room currently.

PokerListings dealt with its own controversy when its founder, Andreas Oscarsson, was murdered in 2009 and there have yet to be any arrests or suspects.
