Bansi overcame 245 players in the £1,500 buy-in main event. He was the chip leader entering the final table and held a 6-1 chip lead when heads up play began with Germany's Manig Loeser who collected £67,070 for his second place finish.
Bansi is a 32 year-old London born pro who is fast becoming one of the UK's top poker players. This win brought his live tournament winnings to almost $2.5 million.
Bansi belongs to a five strong group of London-based professional poker players known as The Hit Squad. After being impressed with each others poker play the group agreed to share their poker strategies and now have combined tournament winnings of more than $6 million over five years. Bansi's fellow Hit Squad member Karl Mahrenholz finished fourth in the event.
Bansi is already a two time World Series of Poker bracelet winner. He took his win in stride, with no over the top celebration, only saying "it was a pleasure to win his second GUKPT Main Event and that he had run well against his final table opponents."
