Daniel Negreanu knows a thing or two about running bad. His appearances on GSN's High Stakes Poker are proof of that. Sunday against Viktor "Isildur1" Blom, Negreanu got crushed in the first half of their SuperStar Showdown.Negreanu could never get anything going and had blown through his entire $150,000 bankroll for the match in a little over four hours and 1,439 hands. It was the first of the six matches to end before the 2,500 hand was reached.
The next match is scheduled for March 27, at 15:00 ET. Once again they will sit down with $150,000 available over four tables of $50/$100 no-limit hold'em. Whether Blom's massive stacks will carry over is yet to be seen.

What must be disappointing is Negreanu has been training for this match, going against many top online players to build up his stamina and strategy in preparation for taking on the young Swede. He has willingly taken some big losses in the last few weeks in an effort to fine tune his game for Blom. Which makes it all the more disappointing that he couldn't hold his own or run decently in the match.
Barring a big letdown in the second half, Blom will run his record to 5-1, having won the last contest versus an online qualifier by the slimmest possible margin ($10), after all the previous matches had much larger margins of victory or loss. Blom defeated Eugene Katchalov, Daniel “jungleman12” Cates, and Tony G. while losing his first match to Isaac "philivey2694" Haxton. Blom is up over $150k in profits in his first five matches.
It is interesting that while Blom has consistently won and profited in the SuperStar Showdown's, he is losing in regular cash game play since he became a PokerStars Team Pro.
