Alessio Isaia finishes second at IPT Malta

Italy's hottest player, 24 year-old Alessio Isaia from Cuneo, Italy, narrowly missed taking down the ITP Malta tournament at the Portamaso Casino. Italian Giacomo Loccarini won the title and the €122,000, while Isaia settled for €80,000.

ITP Malta drew 237 players to Malta for the €2000+€200 main event, generating a €459,780 prize pool.

For Loccarini, it marked the biggest score of his poker career after he finished runner-up in the Italian Championship of San Remo to Team PokerStars Pro Dario Minieri.

Alessio Isaia has had an amazing February having won the WPT Venice for €380,000 and second in the Full Tilt $10k Heads Up FTOPS championship to Scott Clements for another $285,000.

Isaia, who already has two World Series of Poker final table appearances on his resume, was caught bluffing in the final hand by Loccarini, holding nothing more than ace-high.
