Melbourne's Own David Gorr Wins Aussie Millions

Melbourne's own David Gorr made it three years in a row for a native to win the Aussie Millions main event. After seven days of play, the 68-year old amateur came out on top against some fierce opponents to collect the massive AUD$2 million victory at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia.

The final table held much promise and attention, when two very respected players Patrik Antonius and online prodigy Chris Moorman who made the final table from the 721 player field. It was not to be either of their nights as they went out in 8th and 7th.
Gorr, who works in the computer industry admits that he got lucky. "I actually had a lot of good cards."

Gorr took a massive chip lead into the heads up with UK pro James Keys. However, Keys fought back to take the lead and control of the match. Unfortunately for Key, one massive double up and a fortuitous river card later and the 2011 Aussie Millions title was both Gorr's and Australia's for the third straight year, following wins by Stewart Scott in 2009 and Tyron Krost last year.
