Day 3 has ended at the EPT Prague event with just 23 players remaining. American Kevin MacPhee has surged into the lead and seeks to create history by winning his second EPT title. He dominated in his first win earlier this year at the EPT Berlin. He goes into Day 4 with 2,096,000 chips.Experienced pro Rob Hollink and Savatore Bonavena are positioned to go far if MacPhee falters. Richard Toth, Melanie Weisner and Josh Prager though shorter stacked, are still in the hunt.
Play will resume Friday at noon local time to play down to the final table at the Hilton in the Czech Republic's capital.
There were 563 entrants at the €5,300 buy-in main event who created a prize pool of €2,730,550 with 80 players that made the money but all shooting for the first prize of €640,000.
Those failing to make Day 4 include EPT Tallinn winner Stani, Matt Affleck, Fabrice Soulier, Tobias Reinkemeier and Day 1 and 2 chip leader Dirk Richter. Luca Pagano also reached the money, for a record 17th time bringing his lifetime EPT earnings to $1.2 million.
