Hansen wins Full Tilt Poker Million IX for $1 Million

Gus Hansen has been on a roll in the latter parts of 2010. First he won his first WSOPE bracelet in the September High Rollers event in London, and then he erased around $2 million in losses online with strong play in October and November. This week, Hansen has won the "winner takes all" Full Tilt Poker Million IX final for the full $1 million prize.

The Full Tilt Poker.com Poker Million is a London-based shoot-out tournament starting with eight heats.

The final table featured six other players: Patrik Antonius, Howard Lederer, Barny Boatman, James Bord, Gary Peniket, and Seth Webber.

The final hand in heads up play pitted Gus Hansen against Tony Bloom. The money went in with Hansen's A,8 of diamonds holding against Bloom's A,6 of clubs.
Zimba Analysis:
Poker is a fickle game filled with tremendous variance. Hansen lost millions online earlier in 2010, but he has had some really good live results in the last several months while reducing his online losses considerably. Keep an eye on the high stakes tables on Full Tilt in December while he pushes to capitalize on his increased confidence and good run to erase his remaining online losses by the end of the year.
