Guild Wars 3 announced at Summer Game Fest
It's finally time for a new chapter in the long-running MMORPG franchise. Guild Wars 2, the series' flagship title, launched 14 years ago to widespread acclaim.
The game sold more than two million copies within its first two weeks and was praised for abandoning the traditional subscription model in favour of a single-purchase approach, allowing players to enjoy the game without recurring monthly fees.
Since then, Guild Wars 2 has continued to grow through a series of major expansions, the latest being Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity, released in 2025. However, an even bigger milestone now lies ahead, as the people of Tyria prepare to embark on an entirely new adventure.
While rumours of a new Guild Wars title have circulated online, the Summer Game Fest reveal has finally made it official.
The announcement trailer offered only a brief glimpse of the game's world and visual direction, but fans can expect ArenaNet to share more details in the coming months.
