Don't Starve Elsewhere announced with gameplay trailer, new co-op sequel to Don't Starve Together

Don’t Starve Elsewhere is a follow-up to Don’t Starve Together.

Game developer Klei Entertainment dropped a rather unexpected surprise during this week’s Triple-i Initiative livestream: a new co-op multiplayer Don’t Starve game is in the works, entitled Don’t Starve Elsewhere. The follow-up was announced a whopping 10 years after Don’t Starve Together’s release in 2016, stirring up plenty of anticipation over its impending release.

What is Don’t Starve Elsewhere?

Don't Starve Elsewhere's world is procedurally-generated.

Don’t Starve Elsewhere is a brand-new installment in the Don’t Starve franchise, set in a new world filled with monsters, magic, and mystery. The game will be a co-op multiplayer title much like its predecessor, and tasks players with fighting for survival, crafting their home, and gathering as many resources as they can.

This time around, the game’s world includes all-new biomes filled with dangers and resources aplenty. The world itself is procedurally-generated, and includes multiple tiers ranging from snow-covered mountain peaks, rapid rivers, and winding cave systems.

Don't Starve Elsewhere's many biomes will have different climates.

These biomes will also come with their own unique climates, which will demand different approaches from players looking to mine their resources. For example, a redwood forest might throw challenging rainstorms at the player, while climbing high altitudes might have players deal with cold weather.

Additionally, a thick Fog also encroaches the landscape of this world. Players can either flee from the Fog or take the risky route, and explore its unknown secrets.

Don’t Starve Elsewhere does not have a release date yet, but the game's Steam page has now gone live.
