What is the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game?

In December 2025, CD PROJEKT RED released a hype trailer for an all-new trading card game, as it celebrates the fifth anniversary of video game Cyberpunk 2077.

The all-new trading card game was scheduled to be launched via a crowdfunding campaign sometime in 2026, and the campaign for the debut set Welcome to Night City went live on 17 March.

The campaign’s goal of US$100,00 was reached in just 5 minutes according to WeirdCo, and the campaign has since reached US$13 million in backing as of 25 March with a total of 16,955 backers, making it the most funded TCG (again, according to WeirdCo) on Kickstarter.

What do Cyberpunk Trading Card Game backers get?

With the extraordinary success of the crowdfunding campaign, backers have now unlocked multiple stretch goals, which include fancy upgrades of Legends cards featuring iconic characters from the Cyberpunk franchise such as V and Johnny Silverhand, as well as upgrades to the Beta Box that backers at the Netrunner Starter Kit and above will receive.

The campaign will end in April, and the products will be shipped out in two waves. The first wave will be sometime during Q3 2026, while the second wave will commence sometime Q4 2026.

What’s next for the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game?

The Kickstarter campaign has mentions of organised play, with local game store centric Night City Showdown events, as well as a Cyberpunk TCG World Championship on the horizon.

Despite the overwhelming success of the Kickstarter campaign, the reception to the card game itself has been a lot milder, with people on Reddit questioning if the success was largely due to speculators and people who see trading card games as an investment.

The gameplay of Cyberpunk Trading Card Game, at the moment, also seems like a barebones game heavily inspired by Duel Masters and Magic: The Gathering with some elements of a tabletop role playing game (a nod to the game's origins), but that is probably reflective of the infancy of the card game.

The crowdfunding campaign for Cyberpunk Trading Card Game will end on 18 April, 2026, and more information can be found on its Kickstarter page.
