Twin Rathalos soar as a mysterious threat spreads across two nations.
The release of Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is almost here, and Capcom shared a fresh trailer during the Capcom Spotlight broadcast on Friday (6 March). Alongside the trailer, new screenshots and details about bonuses and free DLC have also been revealed.
The Crystal Encroachment threatens Azuria and Vermeil
In this latest entry, players will uncover the truth behind the Crystal Encroachment, an environmental crisis threatening to drag two nations into ruin.
The story follows a Rider and their trusted Rathalos navigating the escalating conflict between Azuria and Vermeil while the disaster looms.
Xbox’s recap explains the setup: “Two countries, twin Rathalos.” The Rider and their companions must confront the tensions between Azuria and Vermeil while the Crystal Encroachment threatens the world. This sets the stage for turn-based battles, monster companionship, and a story that puts Riders right at the centre of the chaos.
Players can try the opening chapter now through a Trial Version, with progress carrying over to the full release. This early access is perfect for testing your Monstie team and getting a head start on the adventure. New screenshots from the game were also shared:
How to claim layered armour bonuses in Monster Hunter Stories 3
Capcom has also confirmed several layered armour bonuses for linking save data from past Monster Hunter games:
- Monster Hunter Wilds save data: Hope Layered Armour set
- Monster Hunter Stories save data: Hakum Rider Outfit
- Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin save data: Mahana Rider Outfit
- Monster Hunter Rise save data: Kamura Garb
Linking a CAPCOM ID also grants the Catcom Work outfit for Rudy.
Free DLC and preorder bonuses
To celebrate launch, Capcom will be releasing free DLC including:
- Gold Circlet (equipped as headgear)
- Simon Layered Armour: Wind Wyvern’s Friend
Additionally, preordering the game unlocks Eleanor Layered Armour: Skyscale Queen, giving players extra cosmetics for their characters from day one.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection launches on 13 March for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
