Sophie Turner’s Lara Croft reveal marks the start of Prime’s Tomb Raider TV show production.
Amazon has shared an exclusive first look at Sophie Turner’s Lara Croft in its upcoming live-action Tomb Raider TV series.
The photo depicts the A-list actress in Lara Croft’s iconic rugged outfit and signature braids. Sophie Turner, the star of multiple hit shows and films including Game of Thrones and X-Men, was confirmed to take on the role of the popular female protagonist last September.
Sophie Turner’s Lara Croft reveal was met with mixed reactions. Some fans inevitably compared her look to Angelina Jolie’s iconic portrayal in the early 2000s film adaptations, favoring the former. While others praised Turner’s version for being a more accurate depiction of the character. “The fact her iconic red glasses weren’t forgotten at last healed something in my soul,” one user commented on X.
With the release of the official image, Amazon also announced the start of production on Tomb Raider.
