Here’s how you can get a free Legendary skin for Jeff the Land Shark.
NetEase Games has finally announced details for its upcoming Marvel Rivals Anniversary Celebration event, which adds new freebies for players to claim via in-game tasks. These freebies include an all-new Legendary skin for Jeff the Land Shark, which decks the adorable little creature out in a Clark Kent-like combo of suit and glasses.

Marvel Rivals Season 5: Love is a Battlefield adds anniversary event
Marvel Rivals originally made its debut all the way back on 6 December, 2024, and NetEase isn’t about to let the game turn one year old without celebrating the milestone. Starting from 27 November, Marvel Rivals is kicking off an Anniversary Celebration event, hosted by the game’s mascot character Galacta.
A trailer for the event has revealed that Galacta plans to hold a livestream and celebrate Rivals Day, offering up tons of freebies for players to claim. These freebies include a total of 1,500 free Units available via daily log-in events. Each day you log into the game for the duration of the event, you’ll be granted 200 Units.
You’ll also be able to unlock skins for Jeff the Land Shark, Mister Fantastic, and the Invisible Woman simply by playing matches. However, the latter two skins are only available for NetEase Gamer Premium members. You’ll be able to customise Jeff’s new Legendary skin by collecting accessories through the event, like different shirts and heart-eyed glasses. This marks the first time Marvel Rivals has added a customisable skin of this kind, which seems akin to Overwatch 2's Mythic skins.
Lastly, a Rivals Assemble! allows you to take on challenges with a group of friends, earning more points together to unlock free Units. More freebies are also coming for the Anniversary Celebration event, though NetEase only plans to release them on 4 December, 2025.
Marvel Rivals’ Anniversary Celebration event kicks off on 27 November. NetEase also dropped a trailer for the upcoming Grand Garden PvP map, which launches on the same day.
