The Game Awards 2025 has officially unveiled its full list of nominees, honouring this year’s best titles, creators, and talent in gaming. The list of nominations is led by Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which scooped up a whopping 12 nominations across all award categories. That makes the critically-acclaimed RPG the most nominated game in The Game Awards history.
Additionally, Sony Interactive Entertainment managed to become the most nominated publisher, with 19 nominations in total for games like Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Ghost of Yōtei. There are 27 awards categories in total.
The Game Awards 2025 nominees have been revealed
This week, The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley hosted a livestream to unveil the full list of nominations for the event’s upcoming 2025 iteration. Fans can tune in to watch the event, which will consist of awards ceremonies, big game reveals, and musical performances, on 11 December, 2025. The event will once again be hosted at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
This year’s award categories are particularly competitive on the indie side of things, with multiple indies scoring Game of the Year nominations. Hades II, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 all picked up nominations in that category, along with Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
In the Best Independent Game category, all three aforementioned indies were nominated along with Ball x Pit and Absolum. The Last of Us Season 2 and The Minecraft Movie also picked up nominations for Best Adaptation, while Battlefield 6 and Arc Raiders were nominated for Best Multiplayer.
