Zhao joins the fray in Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.5.
HoYoverse has revealed the next Agent to join Zenless Zone Zero’s ever-expanding roster of playable characters: Zhao. The rabbit thiren is an Ice Defense Agent, marking a rare new addition to the ranks of Defense Specialty characters available in-game.

Zhao might join the roster in Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.5
HoYoverse has begun drip-teasing its next few playable characters in Zenless Zone Zero, following the conclusion of last Friday (14 November)’s Version 2.4 livestream. Judging by the developer’s previous release patterns for new Agents, players can expect recently-teased characters to be two version updates away.
That means Zhao, the game’s latest Agent to be drip-teased, is likely to launch in Version 2.5. Zhao is a rabbit thiren who hails from the Krampus Compliance Authority faction, joining her fellow colleagues Dialyn and Banyue. Despite her short stature, she is set to join the game’s Defense roster as an Ice-Attribute Agent.
Zhao will be Zenless Zone Zero’s first new S-Rank Defense Agent since Caesar King was released, and the second S-Rank Defense Agent to exist in the game at all. The Defense Specialty doesn’t get a lot of play in the game’s current meta, though we might see that change with Zhao’s imminent arrival.
Zhao’s Agent Record features quotes from her fellow Krampus faction member Dialyn, who scoffs at the idea of her being referred to as “The Unbeaten Legend.” Instead, Dialyn says that “she’s just a one-track mind.” Damian Blackwood also appears relieved at being able to cough up enough to “procure her stated price.”
Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.4 launches on 26 November, 2025. Zhao will likely join the roster in the game’s following patch, Version 2.5.
