Red Dead Redemption comes to Netflix, PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch 2, and mobile in December

John Marston’s journey is about to reach more screens than ever before.

Red Dead Redemption is expanding its frontier, with Rockstar revealing that Marston’s journey is making its way to iOS and Android devices, Netflix, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Netflix, and the Nintendo Switch 2 on 2 December.

The announcement landed on Rockstar’s official website on Friday (14 December SGT).

Rockstar confirmed that both Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare are arriving on 2 December across mobile devices and current-generation hardware, complete with enhancements, free upgrades, and full save-data continuity. It’s the same gunslinging epic that players remember, but now polished up, packed with Game of the Year Edition content, and available in more places than a bounty poster.

Red Dead Redemption comes to mobile platforms and Netflix

For the first time, Red Dead Redemption is officially riding into mobile territory. Compatible iOS and Android devices will support mobile-friendly controls, letting newcomers and returning outlaws experience Marston’s hunt for redemption on the go. Netflix members can download and play the game as part of their subscription; no extra fees, just straight into the saddle.

Next-gen console upgrades available

The console upgrades are equally hefty. Players on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S can expect smooth 60fps gameplay, enhanced image quality, HDR support, and resolutions reaching up to 4K. Over on the Nintendo Switch 2, Rockstar says it has fully tapped into the new hardware, offering DLSS support, HDR, mouse controls, and the same fluid 60fps at high resolution. Undead Nightmare also returns in full force, ready for anyone looking to lasso some zombies between main-story shootouts.

Free upgrades and save transfers for current owners

Current owners aren’t being left in the dust, either. PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One digital backward-compatible owners can upgrade for free. PS4 save data carries straight over to PS5, and Switch players can bring their progress forward to the Switch 2 without needing to restart their journey across the frontier.

Rockstar also confirmed that these new versions, developed with Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games, will join the GTA+ Games Library and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on 2 December.

Red Dead Redemption has never been short on places to explore, but now, it’s about to be playable in more places than ever. Saddle up; Marston’s return is just a few weeks away.
