Marvel Rivals might be welcoming two new X-Men to the roster next season.
NetEase Games appears to be teasing Marvel Rivals’ next two playable heroes in a rather subtle way. In the game’s recently-released Season 4 patch notes, players have spotted low-opacity header art for X-Men characters Rogue and Gambit. Rogue and Gambit have been previously teased in Season 4 lore text, suggesting that the arrival of these two heroes is imminent.
Marvel Rivals seemingly confirms Rogue and Gambit as next playable heroes
The patch notes for Marvel Rivals Season 4, which largely focuses on additions to Marvel Zombies, has also given players a clue on Season 5’s new playable heroes. In the patch notes’ header art, Rogue and Gambit can be seen as such:

If that wasn’t an obvious enough clue, Twitter/X user Badguyjohn has also provided a clearer look at both heroes’ designs, via an edited version of the artwork:
It looks like NetEase is leaning on classic comicbook designs for the two heroes, with Gambit sporting his signature headpiece, and Rogue wearing her classic jacket. Interestingly, Gambit can be seen in the artwork seemingly playing with a D20 dice, suggesting an unconventional take on the character’s typically playing card-based abilities.
Marvel Rivals Season 4 is set to end on the day Season 5 begins: 14 November, 2025. NetEase is likely to reveal Season 5’s new heroes within the next two days, so players will have to keep their eyes peeled for now.
The game’s 6 November patchnotes have also confirmed that the Marvel Zombies game mode won’t be leaving until 5 December, 2025, extending its in-game stay. A new solo challenge leaderboard and hero-based clear rewards are coming, along with tweaked versions of each character’s builds.
