Chocobos in Monster Hunter? It’s more likely than you’d think.
Capcom has announced a brand-new, and rather unlikely crossover for Monster Hunter Wilds. The open-world action-adventure game will soon play host to a crossover with Square Enix’s beloved MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV, via a two-way collab featuring items, monsters, and creatures from both games.
Here’s a trailer for the crossover:
Monster Hunter Wilds x Final Fantasy XIV crossovers announced
Final Fantasy XIV is collaborating with the Monster Hunter franchise once again, following an earlier crossover with Monster Hunter World. During Gamescom Opening Night Live, developers from both Monster Hunter Wilds and Final Fantasy XIV confirmed that a two-way crossover is coming for both games in the near future.
On the Monster Hunter Wilds side of things, it looks like players can look forward to Chocobo mounts, the Omega Planetes appearing as an additional monster, in-game items, and more cameos from creatures like the Cactaurs. Final Fantasy XIV’s Monster Hunter content features similar content from the world of Monster Hunter Wilds.
Monster Hunter Wilds’ Final Fantasy XIV content drops in late September. Final Fantasy XIV’s Monster Hunter content drops in October.
