Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 adds Blade, Resource Rumble mode, and more Team-Ups next week

Marvel Rivals Season 3’s second new hero will arrive next week.

NetEase Games has unveiled gameplay for Marvel Rivals Season 3.5’s new hero: Blade, the Daywalker. The iconic Marvel hero will join the playable roster next week on 8 August, along with new Season 3.5 content including more Team-Ups, quality-of-life changes, and a new game mode.

Here’s a trailer for Blade:

Blade buries the light in Marvel Rivals

Blade is officially joining the fray in Marvel Rivals Season 3.5, and NetEase Games has finally dropped a Character Reveal trailer to show off his moves. Blade is a Duelist much like Season 3’s launch character, Jean Grey, though his abilities allow him to work best in mid-to-close range combat.

Blade can use his Ancestral Sword and shotgun in tandem during combat. He can also reduce enemy healing, which means that players will have their shots just right to finish the enemy off. For his ultimate ability, Blade unleashes the Sword of Dracula in a Vergil-like sword-slashing sequence, damaging all enemies within a certain area.

Blade is one of the few heroes Marvel Rivals has teased in advance of his reveal. In the Character Reveal video description, NetEase Games dives into his in-game lore:

"Almost a century ago, Eric Brooks was born of two worlds: the light of his mother's embrace and the dark of the vampire that attacked her. After embracing his existence as a dhampir, he became the Daywalker, the ultimate vampire hunter, combining unmatched combat skills and unwavering supernatural abilities.

"When Dracula reigned over New York City, it was none other than Blade who confronted him first. By then, however, it was too late. Dracula had mastered the almighty power of Chronovium, defeating the Daywalker and imprisoning him within the castle dungeon.

“After Dracula's fall, Blade was sent to Wakanda to recover, but his story is far from over. Now recruited by Shuri to save all existence, Blade stands awake and at the ready against the dark forces of Hela and Knull.”

More content to come in Marvel Rivals Season 3.5

Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 is also bringing a number of Team-Up changes, according to a newly-released Dev Vision Vol. 08 video. Guardian Revival (Adam Warlock–Mantis/Star Lord) and Atlas Bond (Iron Fist–Luna Snow) are being removed from the game altogether, while Loki gets removed from Ragnarök Rebirth (Hela–Thor/Loki).

In their place, two new Team-Ups are coming: Duality Dance (Adam Warlock–Luna Snow) and Vibrant Vitality (Mantis–Groot/Loki). Additionally, Iron Fist is now joining Chilling Assault (Luna Snow–Hawkeye), Star Lord is joining Rocket Network (Rocket Raccoon–Peni Parker), while newcomer Blade joins Lunar Force (Cloak & Dagger–Moon Knight).

Besides new Team-Ups, NetEase is introducing a few multiplayer quality-of-life changes, including a text chat filter and higher penalties for leavers in Competitive game modes. Anyone who leaves a Competitive game mode might now be banned for longer, and get more Competitive Points deducted. On the other hand, players who stay in a match where a player on their team has left will be given point compensation for sticking it out.

Lastly, Marvel Rivals is getting a new Resource Rumble game mode later this month, with a Throne of Knull map soon to arrive as well. Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 launches on 8 August, 2025.
