The Blood of Dawnwalker shows off a first look at its vampire RPG gameplay

The ex-Witcher developers’ upcoming vampire RPG has shown off new gameplay.

Rebel Wolves, a studio made up of ex-Witcher 3: Wild Hunt developers, has shown off a first look at gameplay for its upcoming action-RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker, which follows a man trying to save his family while struggling with a vampiric curse. The game is set to launch sometime in 2026.

Watch the gameplay overview below:

The Blood of Dawnwalker shows off 20 minutes of gameplay

Rebel Wolves recently hosted a one-hour livestream to show off gameplay footage from The Blood of Dawnwalker, its vampire-themed RPG set to debut sometime in 2026. Roughly 20 minutes of gameplay were shown during the livestream, albeit as a work-in-progress early demo. The footage served to introduce players to the game’s premise, combat, and gameplay features.

Rebel Wolves made it clear that the game is designed to be replayable during the livestream, since key choices can greatly influence its story and main characters throughout the main campaign. Players are given a deadline to save the protagonist Coen’s family. Within that deadline, players can chase down clues in order to find them in any way they can. For example, we see the protagonist take on a powerful vampiric boss in the gameplay overview trailer and be defeated–only for the studio to confirm that they could have simply skirted around this boss and dealt with her another way.

The game also features perks and a realistic directional combat system, which emphasises swordfighting by exploiting enemy weaknesses after parries. Coen is also a vampire, which means that he'll need to hunt down victims at night to satiate his thirst for blood. Otherwise, his hunger for blood might manifest itself in other ways.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is set to launch sometime in 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
