FromSoftware has officially unveiled two new playable classes for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, the enhanced edition of the game.
FromSoftware has revealed that Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will have two new playable starting classes. They can be loosely translated as Knight of Ides and Heavy Knight. The revelation was made during the FROMSOFTWARE GAMES EVENT Spring 2025 in Tokyo on Tuesday, 6 May 2025. Details regarding both classes are still mysterious as of now, with more information to come in the future.
According to Famitsu Japan, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will also introduce new weapons, skills, and three new appearances for Torrent, your trusty steed. The edition also includes Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, which was nominated as The Game of the Year in the 2024 edition of The Game Awards.
While initially set to launch for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025, all of the additional content can also be purchased by other platforms via the Tarnished Pack DLC. Fromssoftware has yet to reveal details regarding when the DLC will launch.
FromSoftware also recently confirmed that Elden Ring has surpassed 30 million copies sold worldwide, making it one of the best-selling games ever.
Their latest iteration, Elden Ring: Nightreign, also revealed the PC requirements for playing the game. The game will take up 30GB of storage, and only needs an NVIDIA 10-series card at either minimum or recommended specifications. Elden Ring Nightreign will launch on 30 May, 2025.
Besides Elden Ring: Nightreign, FromSoftware has one more upcoming game that is also projected to be released on Nintendo's latest console. The game is titled The Duskbloods, and some have called it the spiritual successor to FromSoftware's PlayStation 4 exclusive Souls-like, Bloodborne.
