Teams from Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and more will compete in the Southeast Asia Qualifier.

Level Infinite announced earlier this year that it was making a $15 million investment to grow Honour of Kings’ esports presence ahead of its worldwide launch this June, and it looks like all that money is starting to pay off. The Honor of Kings Invitational Season 2 Southeast Asia Qualifier is kicking off tomorrow with teams from Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar and Cambodia competing for spots in the Invitational Season 2.

The five winning teams will then enter Season 2 for a chance to score a slice of its $300,000 prize pool and a spot in the Honor of Kings tournament at the Esports World Cup this year.

Honor of Kings Invitational Season 2 Southeast Asia Qualifier begins this week

Top teams from across Southeast Asia are now set to come to a head in Honor of Kings’ Season 2 Southeast Asia Qualifier. The qualifiers will run from May 24 to 26 this week, with teams being broken into four groups. Teams from Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines will compete in their own regional groups, but Myanmar and Cambodia will battle it out in a single combined group.

Each group’s winner is set to earn a spot in the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 2, while second and third-place winners will move on to the last-chance Qualifier Finals happening in June. All of the qualifier’s matches will be played in a best-of-three format, but the Finals will incorporate a best-of-five format.

The Invitational Season 2 will feature a prize pool of $300,000, and participating teams will also have a chance to advance into the Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason at the Esports World Cup. That tournament has a whopping prize pool of $3 million. The Invitational Season 2 will kick off in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on June 29, nine days after the game’s global launch on June 20.
