Ubisoft will reportedly reveal a Rainbow Six Siege mobile game in April

Ubisoft is reportedly set to reveal a mobile game based on Rainbow Six Siege next month.

A Rainbow Six Siege mobile game is reportedly in the works, and Ubisoft plans to reveal it to the public on April 6 with an announcement trailer. According to Exputer, the game will launch globally after a period of regional beta testing.

The report also states that Rainbow Six Siege Mobile is being developed by Ubisoft in collaboration with Tencent. Tencent’s fourth quarterly earnings call seemingly backs this up, as it mentions new ‘Projects with Ubisoft’ coming in 2023. A source speaking to Exputer states that fans of Rainbow Six Siege, “will love,” the upcoming mobile game, which suggests that its gameplay won’t be a big departure from the 2015 multiplayer first-person shooter.

For now, we can assume that Rainbow Six Siege Mobile will be a slimmed-down version of the main game for mobile platforms much like Apex Legends Mobile, as opposed to a spin-off in the vein of Rainbow Six Extraction. Ubisoft actually shut down a popular Rainbow Six Siege-like mobile game called Area F2 in 2021, which might have been a pre-emptive move to keep players hungry for an official Siege mobile game.

Ubisoft’s Q1 2022 financial report also mentions an unannounced mobile game set for a ‘Q4 2021-2022’ launch, which lines up with Exputer's report. Oher mobile games the games company has in the works include two separate The Division games: Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland and Tom Clancy’s The Division Mobile. Exputer reports that a new Assassin’s Creed mobile game is also in development alongside these.
