Fresh faces for FaZe.
FaZe Clan has introduced two fresh faces to the squad to increase their chances in Split 2 of the North American VALORANT Challengers. This will see the likes of Anthony "mummAy" DiPaolo and Tanner "TiGG" Spanu join up with the rest of FaZe to take the place of Quan "dicey" Tran and Daniel "Rossy" Abedrabbo.
And to cap it with a trio of newcomers is the new assistant coach/analyst, Andy "Avhyno" Sanschagrin. Avhyno alongside mummAy and TiGG were all from Turtle Troop, also Rossy's new home. Turtle Troop remains the team without a sponsor in the NA VALORANT Challengers League.
Both FaZe and TT have started the second split of the NA VALORANT Challengers League with 0-2 losses right out of the gate. TT lost its opening match to M80, arguably the most consistent team in the NA VCL right now. As for FaZe, they lost their opening match to The Guard.
While both teams have not started the second split well, FaZe was coming off of a four-game losing streak, which dates back to the fourth week of the first split. Two straight losses at the end of Split 1 still saw FaZe qualify for the Mid-Season Face Off, which they lost in two quick series against The Guard and then G2 Esports.
With dicey's future still uncertain, Rossy has already made his way to Turtle Troop where he played his first game in the team's 2-0 loss to M80. Rossy's departure did come as a surprise to some given how he only just joined the team a mere couple of months back. As for dicey, he was with FaZe since the start of last season and even stuck with the org through the off-season rebuild.
FaZe will be looking to build on this new roster in the hopes of making it past the group stage once more. The team currently has eight points so far in the NA circuit standings, a long way away from some of the top teams like The Guard and G2. As for M80, they have already qualified for the VCL NA: Playoffs, which only leaves seven more slots remaining.
The NA VCL Split 2 group stages will be back in action next week with FaZe taking on MAD Lions.
