Team Secret and Optic Gaming are the next two teams to be joining in the battle at the Galaxy Battles II Major in January 2018.
The 16 teams that will be competing in the Galaxy Battles II Major at the Philippines Arena from Bulacan, Philippines January 15-21 are beginning to finalize. With all eight of the direct invites confirmed, teams have been duking it out in the regional qualifiers all week.
Both the NA and the EU qualifiers came to a close last night. OpTic Gaming sailed through the second phase without dropping a single match, running over Immortals and then Complexity in the grand finals. With Martin 'Saksa' Sazdov as the team's seasonal replacement for Rasmus 'MiSeRy' Filipsen, who recently parted ways with the organization, the squad looked to be in top form.
Team Secret was rejoined by Yeik "MidOne" Nai Zheng, after he had missed Perfect World Masters due to family matters. The team bested Penta Sports and then swept through Kinguin in the Grand Finals - a reversal from their last encounter when the Polish squad had cleaned up Team Secret 2:0 in the group stage of the Perfect Masters.
The South American regional qualifiers are expected to come to a close tonight. China and the two Wild Card spots are still up for grabs.
