Mineski and WG Unity completes the DAC Southeast Asia qualifiers playoffs

The finals two teams advancing into the SEA qualifiers bracket were decided early this morning. It’s WG Unity from group A and Mineski from group B.

WG Unity vs Next Generation

Warriors Gaming Unity did what they do best to win the loser’s finals against the less experienced Vietnamese team Next Generation. In game one they displayed brilliant coordination and strong team work from the very start. Tier one dives only a few minutes in, then constant aggression with a three-four man ganking squad got them a tremendous lead on which they capitalized fast.

NextGen were able only to get a few pickoffs, four to be more precise, on the back of Vengeful Spirit swaps into Silencer’s global to prevent Dazzle saves from WG Unity. But the Malaysian team had Lai 'Ahjit' Jay Son tearing his enemies apart with Phantom Assassin in the front lines and Kam 'NaNa' Boon Seng clearing up the battlefield with his Ember Spirit. Game two was decided in the drafting phase where WG Unity were allowed to pick Meepo and Ahjit did the hero justice, claiming first blood in the first minute of the game to snowball really fast into a killing machine.

Mineksi vs Rex Regum Qeon

Despite their quite impressive showing over the last couple of days, Rex Regum Qeon seem to have crumbled under the loser’s finals pressure in group B and that resulted in a few too many rookie mistakes in the first game of the series held against Mineski. An aggressive Nicholas 'Eden' Thie on Disruptor ended up feeding Mineski’s Shadow Fiend mid lane in the early laning stage and, once the big team fights were on, the communication problems for the Indonesians became apparent. Skewers out of the Disruptor ultimate or unfortunate Glimpses lost them the game. Although they did have a good chance to make a comeback towards the end of game two on the back of an incredible high ground defense, the Filipino team was way ahead in farm and was capable to deal with the counter push to claim the qualifiers playoffs spot.

The SEA qualifiers playoffs will commence tomorrow, February 8 with Faceless, TNC, Mineski and WG Unity fighting for the one spot available in the Dota 2 Asia Championship 2017 main event.
