The eight-day stream marathon leading up to it was just about half of what the tournament has in store.

Tomorrow, StarLadder will have found four of the six players from the world division to compete at the $50,000 grand finals in January. The pool of 20 invites has been battling for more than a week now and the second group stage with the best eight is about to commence tonight at 18:00 CET.

ThijsNL and Amaz emerged victorious from Group A, leaving big names of Hearthstone like Hoej and StrifeCro out of the running for the time being. The duo of Kolento and Surrender enjoyed a similarly dominant run in Group C, outpacing Kranich, Orange and DreamHack Winter champion Purple.

The other two groups came down to counting tiebreaker scores. Where Trump topped Group B, JAB followed as second, proving himself just slightly better than Xixo and Neirea and ensuring full NA victory. Firebat’s 1-3 score was the biggest surprise of the group.

In Group D, the same tiebreaker race saw Lifecoach follow group winner Dog forward into the tournament, while players such as reigning StarLadder champ StanCifka and World Championship runner-up Hotform were left out.

The eight victors will now venture into two double elimination brackets, the winners of which will punch tickets to the finals. For the rest, the Last Chance bracket will provide the remaining two seeds for the world division.
