While staying outside the main community focus, the fifth season of the Ritmix RSL promises to deliver a quality entertainment. The prize pool has grown to $9,000 compared to last season's $7,500 and the so has the player pool, which now features 32 high-renown names instead of the 24 in Season IV, Life, Symbol, MMA, HerO, HuK, Vortix, Lucifron and Ret among others.

With the line-up and the money ready, all that was left was light the fuse of the competition and yesterday the four players of Group A fought to open the games.

Going 4-1, Strelok was the first player to make the playoffs. The Ukrainian dodged the Korean presence in Supernova and eliminated fellow Europeans SortOf and Mana, scoring 2-1 and 2-0 against them, respectively.

After losing his opening game against the Swede, Supernova was too given a chance to test his strength against the Europeans. A 2-1 against Mana placed the Polish Protoss last in the group and a 2-0 revenge victory over SortOf served as the trampoline that ejected Supernova out of the group stage and into the playoffs.

Ritmix RSL V continues tonight at 18:00 CET with Group B. Opening matches are the Asian clash between TheSTC and Jim and the European face-off between fan favorites White-Ra and Ret.
