TSM exits NA Dota 2 scene, roster returns to Team Undying tag

TSM makes another exit this year, dropping the North American Dota 2 team. This move comes after TSM has also sold its League of Legends LCS slot and left the Rainbow Six Siege space in 2023.

One of the biggest North American organisations in esports, TSM has once been present in multiple titles, holding teams in VALORANT, League of Legends, CS:GO, Apex, Fortnite, Rainbow Six Siege and more. Dota 2 was added to their portfolio a little under two years ago, when the organisation signed Team Undying in the post The International 2021 shuffle.

However, FTX’s collapse in 2022, their biggest sponsor, impacted the organisation, the multiple exits they did in 2023 being directly connected.

According to an announcement made via social media, TSM is seemingly not exiting the Dota 2 scene entirely. “Today we announce our departure from NA DOTA,” their announcement reads. While they drop the entire NA roster, TSM has also mentioned that the organisation is “looking forward” to the next steps in Dota 2.

While there is no official confirmation yet, it is expected that TSM might venture into South America or Southeast Asia next year.

Back to Team Undying

In the meantime, the released roster of TSM will continue to compete together and will head to the upcoming ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 under the Team Undying tag. The roster claimed a spot at the $1,000,000 tournament via NA regional qualifiers, where they made a nearly perfect run through the upper bracket rounds and took down nouns in finals to secure their presence at the last tournament of 2023.
