sQreen's new squad is WG.Unity

Khaled "sQreen" El-Khabbash has created a new squad, this time in the SEA region under WG.Unity

The veteran CIS player infamous for his various iterations of sQreen's Squads and stints on multiple teams with almost all of the CIS and many EU player is taking on Malaysia. Bringing along with him one other western player, Feras "Feero" Hroob sQreen will try his hand in the new season in a new region.

The Malaysian team dropped the remaining four players to make room for the new lineup. The organization is entrusting the Russian player to guide the new roster to better results and an improved season. Between TI6 and TI7 the Malaysian team was able to clinch multiple minor and regional championship titles but always fell short of qualifying for anything major and finding their breakthrough moment. After making a roster change after the locks were in place, the team was thrust into the SEA open qualifiers for TI7 and fell short of advancing to the regionals, taking 2nd place.

WG.Unity are following in the footsteps of several of the other regional teams by importing some talent from the Western regions, hoping to make a change that will translate to real results. The two western players will join three notable regional players - Galvin "Meracle" Kang Jian Wen, Kim "Velo" Tae-sung and Kenneth "Flysolo" Coloma.

sQreen's extensive history in the EU/CIS scene starts back in 2011/2012 with his first official team being XX5. Since then, he has made the rounds in the region, always having a solid presence in the minor events and regional qualifiers. No doubt the team will be hinging on his experience and leadership this coming season.

WG.Unity current roster:

Singapore Galvin "Meracle" Kang Jian Wen
Jordan Feras "Feero" Hroob
Australia Kim "Velo" Tae-sung
Russia Khaled "sQreen" El-Khabbash
Philippines Kenneth "Flysolo" Coloma
