Unknown beat Newbee in the BO1 elimination match and secured themselves a top 12 finish at the major.
Unknown beat NewBee in the loser bracket's best of one match and have advanced to the second round of the loser's bracket. As for NewBee, they have been eliminated from the major. The Peruvian squad has become the first team from South America to make it to the top twelve at a major international event. They will face LGD (in best of three) in second round of the loser's bracket.
The draft was pretty interesting with NewBee surprising everyone with a Shadow Shaman pick. The game started well for Unknown; they got a couple of early kills and TA started to get ahead in the mid lane. But Newbee soon got back in the game, thanks to sloppy play by Unknown.
The Alchemist was left unchecked in the safe lane and had a Maelstorm, Armlet, Treads by minute 13. The turning point was at the 16th minute mark when NewBee started to take rosh but it took too long to finish it. This allowed Unknown to surround the Roshan pit and get four kills before Gyrocopter had even killed Roshan. The Gyro did get the aegis but the Peruvians soon killed him twice and secured themselves a huge lead.
Going into the mid game, Unknown was far ahead in the game but TA died a couple of times which allowed NewBee to stay in the game. In the mean time, Alch got even further ahead. By the 26th minute he had a Basher, BKB, Armet and Maelstorm. The Peruvians soon took the Aegis and marched towards the barracks.
Due to a bad initiation by Rubick, NewBee was able to defend the barracks without even using any buybacks. They killed four of the Radiant's members and stayed in the game. Alchemist, however, had different plans. He got a solo pickoff on the Ember which allowed his team to secure Roshan and go for the game ending push.
The final teamfight
Unknown went down the bottom lane and instantly got a pick on the Gyrocopter and backed off. Gyro bought back and NewBee chased them down the lane. This proved to be a huge mistake since the Alchemist was able to just turn back and auto attack uninterrupted, consequently wiping the entire team forcing the "gg" call.
