NinjaBoogie: 'We were quite shocked because Valve talks about roster stability'

The Summit 3 is set to begin in less than six hours and BeyondTheSummit talent interviewer Ken 'Hot_Bid' Chen managed to grab Michael 'NinjaBoogie' Ross of Rave to talk a little about his team and their chances.

Below are the highlights from the interview.

About The International invitation spot

NB: We figured there was a chance Malaysia would get invited just because of the name, Ohaiyo, Kyxy, Mushi and I figured we did pretty decent the whole year. Ever since the end of last year, we were considered the number one team in South East Asia up until Team Malaysia came along. That's when our (chain of) bad luck come. We qualified for MLG and The Summit 3. After the end of Major All Stars, we sent our Filipino players back to the Philippines to work on their visa and they could not get it in time for MLG. So we decided for them to come back to Korea and focus on Red Bull Battleground and ESL One qualifier but immigration held them over. Then we have to play in those qualifiers with them in the Philippines and they were lagging and that's why our performance in April was pretty bad.

We were quite shocked because Valve talks about roster stability and our team is the only team (in SEA) who has not made a roster change. In any case, we are confident we are going to win the qualifiers.

We were out of the scene for a little and a lot of people forgot about us.

Chances in The Summit 3

NB: It is low chance for us to finish top 3 in The Summit because everybody is well prepared and we just started practicing recently. We just come here for the experience and to play against the best teams in the world and I would use that knowledge to win everyone in the qualifiers.

His teammates, particularly Crissy

NB: I have played with them before joining the team and I never much of them before. Players like Crisssy, I used to not think he have any potential but when I joined the team, that's when Jeyo started giving them a lot of training. That's when I started thinking Crissy is very good. He is very versatile, he plays a lot of heroes and he is the type of the player when Jeyo tells him to play Batrider, he will play 14 pages of Batrider in Chinese rank. He even went to 7k mmr in the Chinese ranking.

I don't know how he does it but he is the type of person when we practice 6-8 hours per day, he would put in 4-5 extra hours and he would play the same hero non stop.
