Three Europeans and a Chinese enter D2CL, who survives?

The Dota2 Champion's League LAN finals will be starting tomorrow, this will be where the four remaining teams, consisting of teams from Europe and China, will fight it out for the base $50,000 prize pool.

Having started on the 23rd of February, the Dota2 Champion's League will come to a conclusion this weekend with its LAN finals held in Berlin at the joinDOTA studio. The tournament will feature the winner of the Chinese qualifiers and the top three from the European qualifiers; the teams are Vici Gaming and Burden United, Empire and Ninjas in Pyjamas respectively. The LAN finals will be held in a best-of-three double elimination bracket with a best-of-five grand finals.

The LAN event will be kicking off with Burden United vs Empire on May 9th 12:30 CEST, all games will be broadcasted by the joinDOTA studio.

Looking at the teams participating, this tournament seems to be prime ground for upsets to be pulled as it consists of two well established teams, Vici Gaming and Empire, ranked first and seventh on Gosurankings, and two yet less accomplished teams who have proven they can stand against the best of the best, NiP and Burden United, who are ranked ninth and 29th on Gosurankings.

Going into the first series of the day, Burden United will be looking to break their current five loss streak and focus on playing at the level they did during the D2CL qualifiers, which saw them top the group, defeating teams like Empire 2-0 and NiP 2-0. On the other side, Empire will be looking to build on their 75% win rate this month to improve on their weak win-loss of 50% in April, down from their usual above 60% win rate for the year of 2015. Despite playing multiple games with stand-in Ubah lately, regular offlaner yoky is said to be back for this event.

As for Vici Gaming and NiP, VG will be walking into the series with an impressive 14 win streak, having defeated top teams like iG (3-1 and 2-1) and LGD (3-1) and showing the new patch is not a limitation for them. Having comparatively weaker results is NiP, who still are capable of putting up quite a fight against VG, having shown that they can take down strong teams like Alliance (2-1) and EG (1-0).
